The Sheridan County School District #1 board members on Tuesday unanimously approved Odell Construction to handle design work on the former bus barn building that, in August, went up in flames.
Superintendent for Sheridan County School District #1, Marty Kobza, said the district was renting the bus barn from the Apostolic Lutheran Church and simultaneously carried insurance at the location. Kobza said the Recreation Board has expressed interest in using the area for office space.
District Business Manager Jeremy Smith said the district previously sent out requests for qualifications for possible designs at the location. Smith said after construction is completed, possibly as early as next August, the property will be then turned over to the Recreation District. Smith explains what Odell Construction will be doing next.
The August fire was likely started by a vehicle with faulty wiring.
