Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library had some unusual visitors last week.
Michelle Havenga, the children's librarian, explains what happened.
Havenga expected that the dogs' owner would be right behind them, but no one came by to claim them. Though the library prides itself on being able to help just about anyone, but there wasn't much real business for the dogs at the library, aside from getting a lot of love and attention from the library staff and patrons.
Havenga said both the staff and the dogs had a great time hanging out at the information desk until other arrangements were made.
The Sheridan Police Department confirmed the dogs were taken to the shelter and were later reunited with their owner. Normally, the only dogs who visit the library are service animals.
