Customers of the Sheridan Area Water Supply, or SAWS, may notice a slight adjustment to their bill in the upcoming fiscal year as the Joint Powers Board is considering a 2% rate increase. SAWS Administrator Rod Liesinger says that the rate adjustment is a recommendation from consultants that have reviewed the utility extensively.
Liesinger explains what the monies generated from the 2% proposed adjustment would go toward.
Liesinger said that Stepwise Consultants have recommended that the Joint Powers Board consider an annual 2% rate adjustment through the year 2020. The Board has yet to act on the recommendation; however the issue will most likely be addressed in further detail at their July meeting when the budget for the fiscal year is approved.
