The Sheridan Artists' Guild, et al, or SAGE, recently moved into the Historic Train Depot located at 201 East 5th Street and will be using it as a Community Art Center.
Paulette Kucera is the president of SAGE. She tells us how they were able to make the move into some new digs.
At this time, she says, they are leasing the depot, which is the first step in the long process of securing a permanent space. Paulette describes how they will go about making the space their own.
A two-story facility, the top floor will be comprised mostly of office space, with two galleries and a classroom making up the first floor.
The first exhibit opens this week with the whimsical watercolor paintings of Misty Plott Barbula. Kucera says that the Sheridan College Main Street Campus will also continue to exhibit SAGE members' works as well.
And she adds that anyone can be a member of SAGE – artists and patrons of the arts alike. Adult membership is $40 a year; a Junior membership is $18 a year, and there are Organization memberships ranging from $100 to $1,000 a year.
