Yesterday we had a story on the Sheridan Area Economic Development Task Force which released its new work plan last week. Today we will take a look at a big part of that effort: Marketing Sheridan.
That responsibility has fallen to Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce and executive director Dixie Johnson.
When someone wants to research a town often they Google search “chamber of commerce” first, she said. When it comes to the combined community effort, Johnson said that anyone who thinks they can help and are interested in learning more should contact the chamber. The marketing materials will be available to check-out at the chamber for those in town who attend trade shows, state meetings, etc.
The message that the Chamber has put together includes a brochure that includes statistics about Sheridan; that includes numbers on Sheridan's performance in its school systems K-12 and the college, workforce data, and real estate statistics. The data will be able to be updated because the campaign includes "QR codes" can be found on the print ads linking it online. (codes that can be scanned with a smart phone app). There will be an ad in the Wyoming Business Council's publication: Wyoming Business Images Magazine. There are also calling cards, which are slightly larger than a business card that can hold other business cards and also have the QR codes.
