CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Republican State Auditor Rita Meyer is lining up as a candidate for Wyoming governor. Meyer's campaign said Thursday that she will hold announcements in Casper and Cheyenne on Tuesday.
Campaign manager Annemarie McCracken confirms that Meyer will announce her candidacy at the events. At least three other Republicans are looking into running for governor in 2010.
Former Wyoming U.S. Attorney Matt Mead of Cheyenne, former state Rep. Ron Micheli of Fort Bridger and State House Speaker Colin Simpson of Cody have all formed exploratory committees.
On the Democratic side, Gov. Dave Freudenthal says he hasn't decided whether he'll challenge the state's term-limit law and run again. Meyer, a Wyoming Air National Guard veteran, was elected state auditor in 2006.
