The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of Johnson County will be happening this Friday and Saturday at the Buffalo High School track.
This is the 10th year for the fundraiser here in Johnson County, according to this year's Event Chair, Dana Delaney, who said that although there are a number of fundraisers throughout the year, this is by far the largest.
She tells us what the money raised is used for.
The relay will kick off Friday at 3pm with the Early Bird Walk, and the Survivor Dinner will be at 5. From 5 to 8 there will be kids' games and at 6pm will be the Grand Opening and Flag Ceremony with the local V.F.W.
The speaker this year will be the Dawn Maertens Family.
Survivor lap, team laps, games and music will continue through the evening and then at dusk will be the Children's Luminaria followewd at dark by the Luminaria.
Walkers will be on the track at all times throughout the day and overnight when the event will wrap at 8am Saturday morning.
Donations are still being accepted and teams can still sign up.
