The Sheridan Recreation District has approved $7,200 in carry over funds to hire an engineering firm to conduct a building analysis on the Old Highland Park School. Sheridan Recreation District Executive Director Richard Wright tells us what the funding approval will allow.
The Recreation District utilized the old Highland Park School for a little over three years before having to move to their current location of the old Woodland Park School in May of 2010. The move had to be made because students from Meadowlark Elementary are using the facility while the new school is being built on the existing Meadowlark site. Wright said that it would be 2015 before the Recreation District would be able to move back into the old Highland Park Facility.
