The Sheridan Recreation District awarded a job bid to Norwood Construction for the renovation of the Oatts Baseball Field.
Norwood was the lowest bidder , and quoted the district at $17,500 for complete re-working of the field and infield, as well as placement of new bases, home plate, and pitching mound.
The Recreation District had origionally budgeted $10,000 for the project, and recently received a commitment from the Oatts family for $2500. Additionally, the rec district has been authorized to use $5,000 from the One Cent Sales Tax initiative. Furthermore, Norwood Construction offered an in-kind match money back deal for the project.
Now that the financial logistics have been nailed down, the project can hopefully start in the upcoming months. If the ground freezes before the project can be completed, the renovations may be postponed until spring.
