Sheridan resident and singer Karen Clift, along with the Witzel Family Foundation, the Wyoming Arts Council and the Sheridan Arts Council, are bringing pianist and actress Stephanie Wendt to the community for a series of free residencies and then a benefit concert at the WYO Theatre the last week of April.
Called "Clara's Visitor," Wendt performs a one-woman show that tells the story of composer Clara Schumann. The concert at the WYO will benefit the Sheridan Senior Center Caregiver Support Group.
Clift says that the residency programs will be an opportunity for people to get some background information about Clara, and the letters shared between her and her husband, Robert Schumann, but also the third party in this drama.
Tickets for "Clara's Visitor", which will be performed at the WYO Friday, April 30th, are available through the WYO Theatre Box Office or online at www.wyotheater.com and range from $12 to $20.
Karen adds that anyone who is able to donate $250 to the Caregiver Support Program will be invited to a special champagne and hor d'oeuvre reception following the concert.
The three free residency programs are:
Wednesday, April 28th: Sheridan College, 4 - 5:30 pm. Free and open to the public.
Thursday, April 29th: Sheridan High School Sue Henry Theatre, 8:20 am (1st period), for students.
Thursday, April 29th: Sheridan Senior Center, 5:30 - 6:30 pm. Karen Clift and Stephanie Wendt's husband Brent will sing Schumann duets and solos. Free and open to the public.
