April is the “Month of the Military Child,” a time to honor youth whose lives have been impacted by parents serving in the military.
Wyoming's Operation: Military Kids (OMK), part of the 4-H Youth Development program of University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Service, invites everyone to help celebrate by participating in the “Purple Up! For Military Kids” program.
Citizens in Buffalo and across the state of Wyoming are encouraged to wear purple on Friday, April 13th to show support for military children and recognizing their sacrifices.
According to the UW Extension Service's media release, purple is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military, a combination of Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine red and Navy blue.
OMK hopes everyone will take this opportunity to appreciate and celebrate military kids and show support by dressing up in purple this Friday, April 13th.
