The first public meeting on the new school that will be built in Buffalo will be tonight at 5:30 pm at the Clear Creek School Gymnasium.
School Superintendent Dr. Rod Kessler explains what the meeting is for.
Kessler said time is a constraint because of the exceptional size of this year's 2nd grade and kindergarten classes. The new school needs to be available to house these students when they are in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades.
Kessler said the meeting is informational, but public input will be taken and considered in the design of the new school. However, he did emphasize that the changes would more than likely be inside the building, rather than changes to the actual “footprint” of the building.
Other discussions at the meeting will include how the school district and the City will be working together on the site in and around the project, and how and where tours of Sunset School in Cody, the blueprint for Buffalo's new school, will be conducted and how the public can sign up to go on the tours.
