A public meeting to review a feasibility study on a possible indoor arena and/or community building at the Johnson County Fairgrounds will be held Wednesday, December 7th at 1 pm in the commissioners office at the Johnson County Courthouse.
Commission Chair Smokey Wildeman said the commissioners had set aside funding for a feasibility study which was performed by GSG Architecture of Casper.
There has been some opposition to building an arena at the fairgrounds, with most that have spoken to the commissioners saying money would be better spent upgrading the existing facilities, or by building a bigger community building instead of the arena.
The commissioners have not made a decision, Wildeman said, but are looking into all possible options for development at the fairgrounds.
The arena, he explained, could be used for many different events.
Wildeman said the public is welcome at the meeting to get more information and to comment on the feasibility study.
