Earlier this month we reported that John and Vanessa Buyok gifted over 800 acres to the Sheridan Community Land Trust to protect it from development in perpetuity. On Saturday, October 9th, the public is invited to celebrate that gift, as CLT Executive Director Colin Betzler tells us.
A great family activity, the event takes place from 1 pm to 4 pm, with complementary desserts and drinks available under an outdoor tent, in case of rain. Betzler says to bring a camera, binoculars and a sweet tooth. Attendees are asked to park at the new Kleenburn Recreation Area located east off the Acme exit from I-90. From there, the Sheridan Trolley will shuttle folks every fifteen minutes to the Buyok Ranch.
As the Conservation Land Trust comes to the end of this year, Betzler says goals have been and continue to be reached.
The Sheridan Community Land Trust partners with willing landowners interested in keeping their land in some form of open space. This means that the physical amenities in Sheridan County that the public knows and often takes for granted have a better chance of being preserved for current and future generations.
