Doors opened wide yesterday as the public was invited to tour the newly constructed Sheridan Memorial Hospital lab, the Medical Arts Complex lab, and Big Horn Mountain Medicine in Sheridan.
More than 250 people were given red carpet treatment which showcased the hospital’s extensive remodel. The new lab, where all patient testing is performed, is located on the lower level of the hospital, just below the Emergency Department. The Medical Arts Complex lab, which has been open for four years, will continue to serve all outpatients.
Hospital CEO Mike McCafferty said that the main reason for the tours is that it is important for the public to know, especially in these uncertain economic times, that the hospital is headed in a direction of growth. He added that they are not ashamed of celebrating their outstanding facility, outstanding staff, and the latest and greatest health care technology.
The public were also given tours of Big Horn Mountain Medicine, the hospital’s internal medicine practice that opened last November. It's located just one block south of the hospital on Burton Street, where doctors Ian Hunter, Cindy Sharp and P.A. Jason Otto will see patients.
