Take a look in your medicine cabinet and chances are there are unused prescription drugs sitting on the shelves.
Saturday was National Prescription Drug Take Back Day which allows for the safe, legal, and environmentally-friendly disposal of those extra medicines and the Sheridan Police Department was on hand in the Walgreen's parking lot collecting those prescriptions.
Steve Johnston, Evidence Technician with the PD, says it's important to get rid of those unused prescriptions.
Over 15 pounds of unused prescription drugs were taken to the disposal site. Saturday's cold weather kept a lot of folks at home.
The National Drug Enforcement Agency will then collect the unused prescriptions from Sheridan's Drug Take Back Day and will incinerate them.
