Halloween was barely over – and in some places it wasn't over yet – when stores across the nation started putting out Christmas displays to entice holiday shoppers. We've seen cartoons in recent years showing a picture of a house all decorated, with the sentiment “Merry Thanksgiv-o-ween” as a means of poking fun at how our culture has melded one holiday into the other.
And we're not quite to Thanksgiving yet, but some stores and radio stations have already begun to play Christmas music. The latter prompted this week's Bank of Sheridan / sheridanmedia.com poll question: “How early should radio stations switch to Christmas music?” The choices, rather than our usual “yes, no or no opinion” options are: After Halloween; After Thanksgiving; Christmas Week only; All Year Round; or Never.
