The Sheridan Police Department's activity report indicates three Sheridan businesses were cited for selling tobacco products to a 16-year-old during a sting operation, and in an unrelated bust, five minors were cited for alcohol over the weekend.
Community Prevention Professional, Vanessa Hastings, says underage use of drugs like tobacco and alcohol are especially harmful to teens' development.
Hastings says teens can be harmed by alcohol long after the hangover goes away.
