The current Sheridan Pathway System stops at 8th Street going north and then continues through Thorne-Rider Park on the north side of 11th Street. Later this fall, pathway users will be able to cross under the 11th Street bridge that will connect Thorne-Rider to the flood control levee just west of Marion Street. City Councilor John Bigelow tells us why the project has taken over a year to come to bid.
The City Council awarded the bid for the pathway underpass to Excel Construction of Sheridan for nearly $98,000. There was one lower bid from a Billings company but the 5% local preference given to Wyoming bidders made Excel the lowest. The project will be similar to underpasses at Sheridan Avenue and Coffeen Avenue. The work should be complete by November.
