This weekend is the third annual Out of the Darkness Walk to Prevent Suicide. The trek kicks off at 11 o'clock Saturday morning at Grinnell Plaza. Malinda Fairbanks, a social worker who has joined with the Sheridan County Suicide Prevention Coalition, said the walk provides community awareness and support to those affected by suicide.
Fairbanks said this year marks a new milestone for the community's suicide prevention efforts.
Registration for the walk opens at 10 a.m. at Grinnell Plaza the day of the walk, and pre-registration can be completed online at www.outofthedarkness.org.
