The Powder Pass Nordic Club will present their annual Pole Creek Challenge race Saturday, February 4 at the Pole Creek Nordic Ski Area west of Buffalo.
Allison Barnes said the event is still relatively new, only a few years old, but they have seen it grow to nearly 50 participants with more expected this year.
She tells us more about the race.
There will be refreshments and a place to get warm if needed at the Nordic Area's trailhead.
Barnes said this is a family event will particpants as young as five up to older adults.
This is the largest winter event for the club, and the biggest fundraiser for them, with proceeds going back into maintaining the trails and Nordic areas.
They are always willing to welcome new members.
Pre-register for $10 per participant before Friday, February 3 by e-mail at email@example.com or by stopping by the Johnson County Family YMCA. Registrations will be accepted the day of the race for $15 per person.
