The Wyoming Community Foundation and the Sheridan-Johnson County Community Foundation are sponsoring a program to help non-profit board members and their advisors become more efficient. The conference runs today at the Sheridan Holiday Inn. Dr. Jean Garrison from the University of Wyoming delivered the keynote address last night. She discussed the energy challenges faced by the United States and China:
Both Wyoming and China have an interest in showing that new technologies could change the stigma associated with coal being a “dirty” energy source. Making coal cleaner is vital in a world obsessed with “green” energy sources.
The conference will give non-profits information on subjects ranging from funding and investments to hiring the right staff and ethics. The curriculum is designed so that attendees will gain continuing education credits for the sessions.
