It may be a couple weeks past the New Year, but it's not too late to talk about resolutions, says Jason Womack, a workplace performance expert. He has some tips for reducing your workload in 2012.
Womack explains how there may be a better approach to a resolution that isn't quite as daunting as the traditional year-long dedication to change.
That can even be done on a weekly-basis by looking back at the week and evaluating how you're doing - a "weekly debrief" he calls it.
Along with deadlines, Womack includes tips on using gadgets to their potential but to make sure they don't waste your time. He says try reducing meeting times, for example cutting down a 60-minute meeting to 45 minutes. Finally, he says it's important to realize you're not going to get everything done that you want to.
There's no better time to start than in January, Womack said. The social acceptance that comes from people who recognize a new you attempting to resolve can be used as extra motivation.
