It was the locals trying to outdo their neighbors at the 30th Annual Sheridan County Rodeo held this past weekend at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds. Over 200 adults and 40-plus kids entered the family-friendly rodeo. The only fair board member who did not compete this year, Terry Lenhart, says the rodeo is all done in the spirit of having fun.
A local event put on by local people and sponsored by local businesses, the rodeo might be small, but it’s all about tradition.
Participants competed in over two dozen events, including steer roping, barrel racing, pole bending, and goat tying, but the event that drew the most attention and laughter was the wild cow milking contest.
