Mountain View Veterinary Hospital recently passed an evaluation by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), which earned their continued accreditation with the nation's strictest standards of veterinary care.
Practice manager, Hanna Mudder, said this wasn't the hospital's first inspection.
A team of inspectors evaluated the hospital from top to bottom over the course of several days. Everything from surgical procedures, patient care, pain management, record keeping and client service were scored for overall proficiency. Mudder emphasized that affiliation with such an elite organization takes a team effort.
Only four hospitals in the state have achieved accreditation with the association, and two more are working on the initial accreditation process. According to the MVVH website, only 15 percent of veterinary hospitals nationwide meet AAHA standards.
