Call it third time's a charm, but last night's 3rd Thursday Street Festival exceeded everyone's expectations. Hundred's filled Grinnell Plaza, where the smell of cooking food tempted the palate. Main Street, all the way from the Flagstone Cafe to the Rainbow Bar, was overflowing with a variety of vendors, to shoppers, to just those “lookie-loos” taking everything in.
Julie Davidson, one of the many organizers of the event, says the street festival is a great community gathering for downtown Sheridan.
But for Betty Munsell of Seattle, it was another kind of celebration. Meeting up in Sheridan with her four sisters, it's reunion time and a party for Betty's 85th birthday; she would rather think the Third Thursday Street Festival is a celebration for her.
Next month's street festival takes place August 19th and “Happy 85th Birthday, Betty.”
