The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, or MIT, has released statistics for the cost of living around the nation with customized statistics for the City of Sheridan.
According to the Living Wage Calculator tool, a single parent needs to earn at least $17 per hour to maintain a normal standard of living here. However, when there are two adults in the household, the estimated living wage drops to $15.36 an hour, presumably because childcare costs would not apply. People with no dependents can get by on $7.89.
The study also charts average fixed expenses for families in the area and details about the highest and lowest paying industries in the local economy.
