
Several of the GOP Gubernatorial candidates were running neck and neck during the primaries this week, resulting in GOP candidate Matt Mead beating runner-up Rita Meyer by just 714 votes.
Peggy Nighswonger, State Election Director, explains that even though the difference between Mead's and Meyer's vote totals was slim:
The statute does provide for candidates to request recounts, although they have to pay for the recount if it falls above the 1% margin.
