Members of the majority and minority leadership in the Wyoming Senate and House of Representatives held a news conference Tuesday where the first half of the general session and the budget were discussed. Senate Vice President and Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee Eli Bebout stated that the supplemental budget bill reflects legislators long term vision.
Also from Tuesday's legislative session, the Senate gave preliminary approval to a bill that would raise state fuel taxes by a dime a gallon. The bill would raise the tax from the existing rate of 14 cents a gallon up to 24 cents. The hike would raise about $70 million a year for the state highway system and local governments.
