Johnson County's Commissioners awarded the maintenance contract for the judicial/justice center complex to Powder River Heating and Air Conditioning of Buffalo to provide maintenance work on the heating and air conditioning systems of both buildings.
John Griffith with Groathouse Construction, who built both buildings for the county, gave the commissioners a short presentation saying there were two companies that submitted bids after learning the full scope of the requirements of the contract.
The first was from Sheet Metal Specialties of Casper, whose bid was $34,900 and the second was from Powder River Heating and Air Conditioning for $28,496 for an annual contract.
Griffith said there were two main components to the bids, the first being cost and the second being the overall monitoring of the facilities.
The contract will take effect in January of 2013, and quarterly maintenace will be performed in January, April, July and October.
