CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming Congresswoman Cynthia Lummis says she's concerned the federal deficit commission's proposal for how to cut federal spending would leave components of the federal health care reform law intact.
The commission on Friday voted 11-7 to support its
deficit-reduction plan, failing to reach the 14 votes necessary to officially send it to Congress. Republican Rep. Cynthia Lummis says prefers another plan sponsored by Rep Paul Ryan, R-Wis. He served on the deficit commission, but objected to its final proposal. Republican Sen. Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., said Friday he appreciates the tough recommendations put forward by the commission and says the nation needs to consider all options to reduce the deficit.
