In 1988, the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Auxiliary started the Trees of Light ceremony as a means to raise funds for the hospital. In 1989, the name was changed to Trees of Love. The ceremony is held every year on the first Sunday in December. Hospital Volunteer Coordinator Patty Forister explains how Trees of Love works.
Forister says that lights will be available for purchase throughout the month.
Forister said that people can either purchase a light at the admissions desk at the front of the hospital, or online at www.sheridanhospital.org.
