As predicted by many entering the 2012 Legislative Session, Representative Rosie Berger says that even in this budget year education has been the key issue.
The role of State Superintendent Cindy Hill was one issue that was discussed this week. Berger says that the position has changed over the years and the relationship between the state superintendent and the governor needs to be discussed. For one, she says it is becoming more of an administrative role rather than a political role. The bill to change the position from elected to appointed failed to receive two-thirds vote yesterday in Cheyenne. Look for more on that next week.
