CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The late U.S. Sen. Malcolm Wallop is being honored at the Wyoming Capitol. An honor guard brought the body of the senator - a leading conservative voice during the Reagan era - to the Capitol on Tuesday afternoon.
Wyoming Governor Matt Mead placed a wreath before Wallop's casket while the senator's widow and other relatives looked on. Wallop will lie in state through 11 a.m. Wednesday. Wallop died last Wednesday at the age of 78 at his ranch near Big Horn, Wyoming.
Funeral services are set for Thursday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Sheridan. Burial will be at the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
