
Sheridan Fire Marshal Brian Songer issued a media release Wednesday morning informing the public of a structure fire Sheridan Fire-Rescue responded to shortly before 11:00 pm Tuesday night.
On arrival, fire crews found a single apartment full of heavy smoke. A small fire in the living room was encountered and quickly extinguished by firefighters.
Firefighters searched the apartment with the assistance of a thermal imaging camera and located one victim.
42-year-old Ginny Lynn Erdman was transported to Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Fire investigators from Sheridan Fire-Rescue and the State Fire Marshal’s office and detectives from the Sheridan Police Department were on scene until 3:00 a.m. Wednesday. The investigation into the cause of the fire and the cause of death is ongoing.
