Kennon Products of Sheridan will present a new aircraft cabin liner system at a Department of Defense conference in Atlanta next month. The new cabin liner system has been a four-year long project, and President of Kennon, Ron Kensey, says that this started out as something that Kennon was working on for the V22 Osprey aircraft. He explains the cabin liner and its advantages.
Kensey added that the liner will hopefully be implemented in all aircraft someday. In May, they presented cabin liner at the V-22 Executive Steer Summit in Philadelphia, and from there they have made improvements.
The conference is a Small Business Innovation Research Beyond Phase II Conference and Technology Showcase, which means Kennon can receive grants to further its research - in this case the next step to continue work on the ballistic protection capabilities of the cabin liner.
DOD and SBIR contribute $1 billion per year to small companies for research, the release said. The conference is Sept. 12-15.
