At last week's Johnson County Commissioner's meeting, the Buffalo-Johnson County Justice Center Joint Powers Board gave their quarterly update to the commission.
A number of issues were discussed ranging from the lease of the old justice center with Volunteers of America to air conditioning problems at the new facility, according to Commission Chair Smokey Wildeman.
He said the issue with the air conditioning in the dispatch centwer at the new justice center has been resolved and it has been working since last week.
Volunteers of America has officially moved into the old Justice center and began renting the offices in the front of the building, Wildeman said, and now the commission must decide in the very neasr future what to do with the rear part of the building, the cell blocks, which has had structural problems for many years.
The decision on what to do with the damaged section of the old justice center is expected to be made by the end of this year.
