In addition to accepting the agreement with Sand Creek Ranch on Tuesday, the Johnson County Commissioners took care of other business in this year's final meeting.
Phil Gonzales, with the Buffalo/Johnson County Recycling Board, told the Commission he and the board would like to be involved in the design process of the new recycling facility when it begins this next year.
Also the commissioners, acting as the County Board of Equalization, decided to send a property tax dispute to the State Board of Equalization for a decision from them on the matter.
The board read a request from a class at the high school to allow them to film goings-on at the courthouse for a school project, which was approved with the understanding the kids would not disrupt those working at the courthouse.
A Transfer of Liquor License request was approved from Lakestop, LLC to Simondi Enterprises, Inc. /dba Elbow Room at 9 Lakestop Road.
And the commissioners approved a request from the Boys' and Girls' Club for $600 split between the city and the county for a Christmas dinner for the kids and their families at the club. The commissioners approved $300.
Rod Litzel with Johnson County Weed and Pest gave the Commission an update on what had been done in 2010 and possible changes in the legislature in 2011 that could affect his department.
