Johnson County's new elected officials were sworn into office during a ceremony Monday morning at the courthouse. Aaron Palmer has the report.
A reception followed the ceremony, and new County Assessor Cindy Rogers said she is ready to go to work.
New County Commissioner Johns Gibbs was also sworn in Monday, and he will have his first official commissioner's meeting Tuesday, although he has been attending the meetings for months as a private citizen.
He said he doesn't feel different yet, and he echoed Rogers' sentiments about getting right to work.
Gibbs said there are areas of the county that need some attention and he is hoping to see improvements in the lives of county residents.
Also sworn on Monday were Sheriff Steve Kozisek, Clerk Vickie Edelman, Treasurer Carla Faircloth, Commissioner Delbert Eitel, Coroner Dave Harness, Clerk of Court Thelma Axberg and County Attorney Kenneth DeCock.
