During their meeting Tuesday, the Johnson County Commissioners discussed furniture, both old that is in storage and new that needs purchased for the new court facility.
The county has a large amount of old furniture from various county buildings in storage and the commission decided to liquidate the items by requesting bids from the public to purchase the furniture.
Bids will be accepted through May 25th at 5pm. The bid winner will have 30 days from the bid award to remove the furniture.
The Commission later approved Chair Smokey Wildeman tp sign a letter of intent to purchase furniture through The Office in Buffalo.
The letter was to ensure the furniture supplier that the county would guarantee payment of the nearly quarter of a million dollar purchase.
The council discussed the reason for the letter of intent.
The commission approved the chair to sign the letter and have The Office proceed with ordering the furniture.
