At their regular meeting this week, the Johnson County Commissioners approved Resolution No. 460, amending the budget to show additions to Funds 21 and 52 and a payment from the General Fund for equipment.
The Wyoming Department of Health Public Health Division allocated nearly $54,000 to the county, which then earmarked the funds for Fund 21 Public Health Emergency Preparedness.
Also from the Wyoming Department of Health was an award of $10,000 for the state's portion of the salary for the County's Public Health Officer.
Both grants are yearly renewal grants from the State Department of Health, according to Clerk Vicki Edelman, who explained that the grants come to the county after the budget sessions are completed, so they allocated funds must be added to the county's coffers through an amendment to each year's annual budget.
The final part of the Resolution was a $4,000 transfer from the County's General Fund to the Mikesell-Potts Recreation Area's annual budget to purchase a zero-turn mower for the recreation area.
