The Johnson County Commissioners, at their last meeting, approved a number of grants, leases, bids and other business.
They approved a Fund 17 Grant from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). The funds stem from a grant from 2010 which will go to the county's Volunteers of America Juvenile Detention Program. The Federal Government is that far behind in processing them, according to County Attorney Ken DeCock.
The commissioners also approved a lease of a T-hangar at the airport to Barney Long. He will take possession of the hangar March 1st.
Remodeling of the Historic Courthouse was also discussed, and Commission Chair Delbert Eitel explains further.
A second bid to relocate an electrical box from that same area to another part of the building was also discussed and approved by the commissioners. The bid was for $400 from Chesbro Electric.
