Johnson County's Commissioners, at their last meeting, voted to sign an agreement with Sasol North America once a few more details had been worked out.
The commission had decided to table the agreement at their November 20th meeting at the urging of County Attorney Ken DeCock, to give him time to re-write some of the agreement and clarify some details with the company's legal representation.
Commission Chair Smokey Wildeman explained what the agreement was at their November 20th meeting.
The detail needing attention at this meeting was wording that would require the company's vehicles be licensed in the county if they travel on county roads, which the commissioners agreed needed to be included in the agreement.
The commissioners discussed the issue further before agreeing to approve signing the agreement when completed.
Sasol agreed to buy land from M&M Ranch. The company will control about 10,000 acres of land along the lake and 62,000 acre-feet of water rights, according to a recent report from the Billings Gazette.
