At the last Johnson County Commissioner's meeting January 17, the commission approved a Hopmeland Security Grant from FEMA for Law Enforcement and Terrorism Prevention.
Commission Chair Smokey Wildemand said the grant was destined for the county's Emergency Management Coordinator, and he explains more about the grant.
This half of the grant for law enforcement was for $14,043.39, again just half od the grant. The other half, just over $14,000 will be distributed to Emergency Management, according to Wildeman.
Also approved by the commission at the meeting was aboundary readjust/land swap between private land owners and the North Fork Users Association at Dull Knife Reservoir in the Big Horn Mountains.
The swap was necessary to clean up a number of land deeds around the reservoir itself, many of which had not been correct since the 1970's.
The swap gives lands near the dam and reservoir to the association, swapping other lands adjacent to the reservoir to some private landowners in exchange, to give the association better access to the dam and reservoir.
The county planning commission recommended the adjustments and the commission approved them.
