The Johnson County School Board had their monthly meeting Monday night, and Superintendent Dr. Rod Kessler updated them on the status of a proposed new elementary school for Buffalo.
Kessler explained the process and procedures of getting a new school built with the School Facilities Commission, which have changed significantly since Buffalo built Clear Creek Middle School and Buffalo High School.
Kessler said they hoped to save the state money by adopting an existing and approved plan and adapting it to fit Buffalo's needs. One facility being considered is Sunset Elementary School in Cody.
Kessler explains the District's goal for the new school.
The new school needs to be available when this year's first-graders become fourth-graders.
