The Johnson County Commissioners, at their meeting Tuesday, approved moving forward with the new judicial center complex, after hearing final cost estimates and getting a GMP, or Guaranteed Maximum Price from the contractor, Groathouse Construction.
The GMP from Groathose is for $9,102,662 which includes a $350,103 contingency fund.
Miscellaneous costs involved including furniture,relocating files and other items and new items such as a video court system, the total cost is projected at $10,009,696.

Construction on the new judicial center will be phased in as construction on the justice center is completed in the next couple of months, and substantial completion on the judicial center is expected on August 1, 2012.
