Superintendent Dr, Rod Kessler was scheduled to speak at the meeting on the matter but was unable to attend.
District Technology Director Andrea Gilbert told the board that the district has posted a survey on their website to gather opinions and ideas from the public.
The District's website has a brief commentary from Kessler urging the community to participate in the survey.
It reads in part: “As a community, we want to be proactive in protecting our students, staff, and patrons when in our schools or on school premises. As a school district, we will have ongoing discussions and we will make changes to improve our school safety measures.”
To take the survey,
Each school, according to the district website, will have public meetings to discuss school safety and security in the next few weeks.
