At their meeting Monday night, the Johnson County School District 1 Board of Trustees heard a preliminary budget presentation from District Business Manager Matt Ramey.
Ramey told the board the numbers the preliminary budget is based mostly on educated guesses and projected valuations in the county, which have not been officially released yet, and will change as more data is gathered.
As of Monday's meeting, Ramey projected an increase in the 2013 budget of $223,000 more than FY2012. Last year's budget was $19,680,000 and 2013 is projected to be $19,903,000.
Superintendent Dr. Rod Kessler added that the numbers will change between now and the final budget sessions in July.
The board voted to approve the preliminary estimated budget.
