The Johnson County Healthcare Center Board of Trustees, at their meeting Wednesday night, got an update on the construction at the hospital from Administrator Sandy Ward.
Ward told the board that the recent wet and cold weather has affected the construction, mainly with concrete work, but that he didn't expect the delays to push the final completion date back, as extra time was built into the project from the beginning. Ward explains further.
Ward said the cost of the project is still in line with projections, even though costs have been higher in some areas, they have decreased in others, with the net result of remaining close to projections.
As of this week, Ward said, the project has gone through roughly two-thirds of their projected expenditures with less than three months remaining on the project.
Ward explained that of their $900,000 contingency fund, he expects to use only $300,000 to $400,000 when the project is complete.
