At their last meeting, the Johnson County Helathcare Center Board of Trustees heard updates from Hospital Administrator Sandy Ward on the current constuction project and with ongoing recruiting efforts.
The 2012 construction project, Ward said, is now focusing on the radiology department and on expanding the pharmacy area, with an anticipated completion by the end of May.
The entire project is still slated for completion in August, and is expected to be at $12 million when completed, roughly $500,000 less than originally projected.
The 2016 construction project, to replace the aging Amie Holt Care Center, will move into the preliminary planning stages, with an estimated cost of $50,000. The architects have a tentative start date in August and have scheduled meetings with the board to begin in January of 2013.
The hospital is continuing discussions with a female physician that wants to relocate to the area. She is in her first year in a residency program in Idaho and the JCHC is wanting to interview her this summer and possibly pursue her after her residency is completed.
